Just 14 IB students who think the grind is overhyped

We never set out to build a company. It began with six of us — friends who did plenty of fun things during IB and still came out with remarkable scores, on a fairly relaxed approach to it. But once we’d finished the DP, the state of IB teaching outside our school bothered us: sky-high tutoring costs, no real regard for IBDP specifics, and a general distrust of anything accessible. External teachers just repeated the same things and herded students down the same paths — PEEL in Lang & Lit, relying on conceptual understanding and regurgitating questions in Maths, memorising BM content, rote-learning formulae in Physics — high fees, and nothing new or effective to show for it. So we started sharing our own approach and our methods, and found people with the same calling: DP coordinators, teachers, alumni, students. GeorgeTheTutor is built by every member of that community, with a single purpose — to bring the most effective approach to IBDP to students.
